Our client, a prestigious law firm, is looking for a Legal Assistant to join their team!
Essential duties and responsibilities of this role include:Produce for review correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy by utilizing the most effective software solution available.Proofread documents to ensure accuracy.Coordinate and handle the filing and retrieval of electronic information using the firm’s document management system.Screen telephone calls and record messages.Read, sort and date incoming mail; ensure that outgoing mail is handled in a timely and efficient process.Establish and maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems utilizing Outlook.Prepare and send e-filings.Open new files; request conflict of interest checks; maintain all client and general files. Conduct periodic review of older files for possible storage. Prepare files to be closed.Handle client inquiries in an appropriate and responsive manner.Schedule meetings for attorney(s).Process bills; proof billing sheets; review and edit bills.Record time into the firm’s accounting system accurately and in a timely manner.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proficiency in current versions of Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite of products required; experience with document management systems (iManage) and Elite billing system highly preferred.Must be highly knowledgeable and skilled with construction litigation processes, deadlines and procedures and court rules.
