LaSalle Network has partnered with a growing CPG company in Chicago in their search of a
Contract Food Scientist . This is a 6-month contract opportunity, assisting in the development of new products and improving existing products as a part of the R&D team. Candidate must be able to be onsite 3+ days a week in downtown Chicago.Contract Food Scientist Responsibilities:Create, improve and ensure the quality of food products.Research ingredients, develop new recipes, test for taste, oversee safety efforts, etc.Research ways to extend freshness while staying cost-effective and aligned with consumer trendsWork closely with Process Engineers, Marketing and Manufacturing staff in project execution and problem solvingLead/support 3+ projects at any given time
Contract Food Scientist Requirements:The ability to apply broad range scientific knowledge to confectionery technologyStrong project management skillsComfortable operating laboratory, pilot plant and plant equipmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-starter with strong initiative to seek improvementsAble to apply strategic thinking, exhibit a collaborative mindset and suggest innovative solutionsHighly efficient at planning and staying on timelines and planning projects accordinglyBachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Engineering or similar scientific field, or equivalent experience2+ years' experience or equivalent knowledge and skill set preferredProficiency with the Microsoft Office suiteWorking knowledge of SAP PLM preferredIf you are interested in this opportunity and meet the qualifications, please apply today!Thank you,Missy StellaSenior Unit ManagerLaSalle Network
