LHH is seeking an experienced Plant Process Engineer to join a dynamic company dedicated to innovation and operational excellence.
This role leads the development of processes, procedures, and tools associated with lime manufacturing to reduce production costs and improve efficiency, all while ensuring product quality, respecting emissions limits, and prioritizing safety.
The anticipated salary for this role is $100,000 - $120,000 a year + Bonus
Responsibilities:Recognize production bottlenecks, develop action plans, and execute them, assessing results.Conduct handoff meetings with operators and team leaders daily to communicate production expectations, identify barriers, and relay important information.Provide technical support to maintenance, production, environmental, and quality teams.Monitor the reliability of processes to evaluate paybacks for improvements.Perform inspections during major outages of refractory and instrumentation; prepare shutdown reports.Record process-related issues and review results with the plant team to initiate and implement solutions.Conduct process and energy audits to identify opportunities for cost savings.Track and analyze raw materials for optimal fuel and stone utilization, conducting cost-benefit calculations.Monitor stone quality, gradation, size and fuel quality analysis to assess impact on product quality.Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manuals.Train operational personnel on kiln operations.Maintain a safe work environment in the execution of all duties.Drive environmental compliance testing.Own the operations strategy for the plant, providing direction on kiln operations to maximize production and minimize costs.Manage the refractory strategy and budget, ensuring accountability for financial performance and refractory brick management.Supervise process capabilities of the rotary lime kiln, grinding mill, and other material handling systems.Monitor and improve the stone feed system, calcining process, lime quality, and accuracy of all production inputs.Create strong relationships with all groups within the site, region, and company to ensure seamless communication and productivity.Ensure production consistency, product quality, and adherence to environmental limits.
Education and Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in an engineering role within maintenance or operations.Understanding of root cause analysis and troubleshooting.Industry experience in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, or cement plants. Experience with lime and cement is preferred.Positive, proactive attitude with high initiative and the ability to work independently.Willingness to spend the majority of time in the plant with operators, maintenance personnel, and contractors; effective communication of production and process plans is essential.Limited travel to other sites and regions as needed.Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills.Detail-oriented with excellent problem resolution abilities.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to support a continuous improvement environment and change management initiatives.
