What are the Key Objectives:Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs), plans, amendments and other documentation to determine the scope of work and content for preparing time, cost, schedules, materials, design and labor estimatesWork with a diverse client base to include, but not limited to multi-family, retail, mixed-use, medical, K-12, higher education, local municipalities and state agenciesReview and participate in Bid Day activities and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) including reviewing all documentation for accuracy and ensuring timely and competitive biddingConsult with clients, architects, engineers, vendors, other departments and team members to discuss estimates and resolve issues with subcontractorsActive involvement in recruiting, evaluating, and selecting qualified subcontractors and determining fit for jobs based on working knowledge of past performanceWork with a cross-functional teams in the delivery of construction management at risk and design build delivery methodsPrepare estimates that include conceptual, schematic, and design development for our clientsPerform site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditionsAssess cost effectiveness of products or services and track actual costs relative to bidsPrepare and maintain a historical cost database as well as a directory of reliable suppliers and subcontractorsDevelop best practices based on industry knowledge and company needs
What You Offer:A Bachelors in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related fieldSeven (7) years prior experience in construction estimating with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in conceptual estimatingMaintain and demonstrate an understanding of construction trades and building systems, documentation processes, industry knowledge, industry estimating tools, and undertake the appropriate measures to ensure continued personal trainingDevelop lasting relationships with subcontractors and vendorsIndependent and self-motivated with the ability to be analytical while multi-tasking and remaining detail oriented
