Senior Conceptual Estimator

What are the Key Objectives:

• Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs), plans, amendments and other documentation to determine the scope of work and content for preparing time, cost, schedules, materials, design and labor estimates
• Work with a diverse client base to include, but not limited to multi-family, retail, mixed-use, medical, K-12, higher education, local municipalities and state agencies
• Review and participate in Bid Day activities and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) including reviewing all documentation for accuracy and ensuring timely and competitive bidding
• Consult with clients, architects, engineers, vendors, other departments and team members to discuss estimates and resolve issues with subcontractors
• Active involvement in recruiting, evaluating, and selecting qualified subcontractors and determining fit for jobs based on working knowledge of past performance
• Work with a cross-functional teams in the delivery of construction management at risk and design build delivery methods
• Prepare estimates that include conceptual, schematic, and design development for our clients
• Perform site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions
• Assess cost effectiveness of products or services and track actual costs relative to bids
• Prepare and maintain a historical cost database as well as a directory of reliable suppliers and subcontractors
• Develop best practices based on industry knowledge and company needs

What You Offer:

• A Bachelors in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field
• Seven (7) years prior experience in construction estimating with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in conceptual estimating
• Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of construction trades and building systems, documentation processes, industry knowledge, industry estimating tools, and undertake the appropriate measures to ensure continued personal training
• Develop lasting relationships with subcontractors and vendors
• Independent and self-motivated with the ability to be analytical while multi-tasking and remaining detail oriented
