JOB SUMMARYThe Senior Electronics Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of electronic systems and components for various magnetic, acoustic, capacitive, LIDAR, guided wave and free space radar continuous liquids level sensing projects. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure electronics hardware meets performance, reliability, and cost requirements. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in electronic (analog / digital) design, firmware design, strong technical expertise, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of technology.
REQUIREMENTS4 Year Electrical Engineering degree required. Master’s level electrical engineering degree a plusMinimum 10-15 years experience in electrical hardware design and firmware developmentProven sensor design experience in industrial, construction and transportationExpertise in microcontroller and FPGA-based system designExpertise in designing for EMC complianceProficient in programming languages such as C/C++ and assemblyKnowledge of communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and LINExcellent written/verbal communication and organizational skillsElectronics schematic and layout experience using programs such as Altium or ProteusHands on PCB build and soldering experience. Must be able to build and rapidly prototype designs through developmentTechnical leadershipStrong communication skills and ability to communicate to company leadership
PREFERRED10+ years of sensor design and development experienceStrong proficiency in analog and digital sensor designEmbedded firmware development experience with Microchip, STMicro or TI microprocessorsHigh frequency circuit design experienceFamiliarity with signal processing techniques and tools such as MATLAB and LABVIEWKnowledge with wireless sensor communication such as BLE and IoTKnowledge of machine learning and data analyticsMechanical design experienceExperience in Industrial, Construction or Transportation industriesExperience with High Volume Design for ManufacturabilityExperience with ranging technologies such as ultrasonic, LiDar or RadarProficiency in Python or other scripting languages for test automationExperience in APQP product development processes

RESPONSIBILITIESLeading the design and development of electronic systems, circuits, and components for a range of liquid level measurement productsDefining electronic specifications, architecture, and requirements based on project objectives, customer needs, and regulatory standardsDesigning and simulating analog and digital circuits using industry-standard tools such as SPICE, Altium, or ProteusSelecting and evaluating electronic components, including microcontrollers, sensors, power supplies, and communication interfaces, considering performance, reliability, and costDeveloping high-performance electronics designs with a particular emphasis on achieving low noise, low power, and high reliabilityDeveloping and prototyping PCB layouts, ensuring optimal placement and routing for signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal managementDevelop testing systems and procedures. Conducting thorough testing and validation of electronic hardware, including functional testing, performance characterization, and environmental testing (e.g., temperature, humidity, vibration)Collaborating with firmware engineers to integrate electronic hardware with embedded software and ensure seamless operation of the overall systemWorking closely with mechanical engineers to ensure proper integration of electronic hardware into product enclosures, housings, and assembliesTroubleshooting and debugging electronic hardware issues during development, testing, and production phases, implementing effective solutions in a timely mannerMentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidanceLiaising with customers and suppliers as necessaryStaying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electronic design and applying relevant advancements to improve project outcomesPrepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manualsAble to develop and execute Project SchedulesPerforms other duties per judgement or as necessity dictates
