Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager
to our expanding R&D team! Based out of our HQ in Center City Philadelphia and reporting directly to the Vice President of Cookievation/R&D, the Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager will provide food safety and quality assurance expertise to assist in elevating our processes at the in-store bakery level as well as holding suppliers accountable to our supplier expectations.
This role will manage the day to day activities of complaint resolution, supplier/distributor auditing, and providing the Cookievation team with food safety/quality assurance requirements for new products and LTO’s.

Job Responsibilities:Assign food safety courses and exams to meet local, state, and federal food safety requirements for restaurants as needed.Manage the quality complaint resolution program from collection to resolution for all food, paper, packaging, smallwares, equipment.Conduct annual supplier audits to ensure suppliers continue to meet Insomnia Cookies high level of performance.Conduct annual distributor audits to ensure distributors continue to meet Insomnia Cookies high level of performance.Qualify potential new suppliers or distributors to determine they meet Insomnia Cookies expectations.Lead the Insomnia Cookies Food Safety Committee to ensure we continue to provide safe, quality products to our insomniacs.Develop and manage all Insomnia product specifications including food, paper, packaging, smallwares, and equipment.Provide food safety expertise and training to all teams as needed.Develop, monitor, and manage an Insomnia Cookies HACCP Plan to determine potential risks or areas of vulnerabilities.Maintain and update a Food Safety Manual for all retail bakeries.Serve as food safety/quality assurance expert advisor to all teams within the Insomnia Cookies organization.
Desired Skills & QualificationsB.S. in Food Science, or related degree required5 plus years of experience in QA related role requiredKnowledge of food products and commercialization, including quality assurance, supplier manufacturing and processesKnowledge of food safety and HACCP principles. Servsafe Certified.Strong interpersonal skillsIndependent, out of the box thinkingFlexible/AdaptableProblem Solver/Solution ProviderGood organizational skills and ability to multi-task.Good verbal, written, computer communication skillsDetail oriented
