Job Responsibilities:
1) Process Design and Optimization
Analyze and develop production workflows to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Identify and mitigate potential bottlenecks and inefficiencies.2) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Develop and document SOPs for production processes, emphasizing safety, quality, and efficiency. Collaborate with quality and safety teams to ensure all procedures comply with regulatory standards.3) Production Planning and Scheduling
Coordinate with production and supply chain teams to create detailed schedules and plans, ensuring that all resources (materials, equipment, labor) are available and aligned with demand.4) Safety and Compliance
Conduct risk assessments and ensure all pre-production activities adhere to safety standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, GMP). Develop contingency plans for potential safety hazards.5) Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues that arise during equipment setup or pre-production testing to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production startup.6) Training and Knowledge Transfer
Train operations staff on new equipment, technologies, and processes. Provide technical guidance and ensure team members understand the production workflow and safety procedures.
Experience/skills Required:
1) Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, such as Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or related fields. Advanced degrees may be preferred.2) Industry ExperiencePharmaceuticals/Biotech
Knowledge of GMP regulations, API production, and OEB containment for high-potency compounds is valuable.
Manufacturing Experience
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment is critical, especially in sectors like chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology.
3) Process Development
Experience in process optimization, development, and troubleshooting to ensure the production line is ready for operations.4) Project Management
Familiarity with managing or supporting projects from concept through commissioning and startup.5) Process and Equipment Familiarity
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and production equipment, including setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.6) Regulatory Compliance
Knowledge of regulatory standards (GMP, OSHA) and a strong understanding of safety protocols.
