Position Description:We are seeking a motivated and experienced
Land Acquisition Manager
to join our team, focusing on
Community-Scale Solar and Battery Storage
projects. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing land for solar and storage developments, managing the entire acquisition process from site selection to contract negotiation. This includes conducting early-stage site diligence, managing relationships with landowners, and structuring commercial transactions to secure parcels ranging from
10 to 100+ acresResponsibilities:Identify and Assess Sites
Research potential land opportunities, obtain landowner contact information, and assess sites based on grid capacity and suitability for solar and storage projects.
Site Diligence
Conduct thorough early-stage diligence to identify key development opportunities and assess potential constraints.
Outreach & Relationship Building
Engage landowners through direct outreach, overcoming objections and building rapport to gain site control.
Contract Negotiation
Negotiate land lease options, purchase options, and easement agreements with landowners, with support from our legal team.
Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with surveyors, utilities, title companies, and other stakeholders to advance project development.
Transaction Management
Maintain accurate records of all due diligence and transaction-related payments.
Required Qualifications:Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related field.
Experience
5+ years of sales, business development, or origination experience, ideally within energy, renewable development, or real estate sectors.
Contract Negotiation
Proven experience reviewing and negotiating legal agreements with landowners.
Location & Travel
Preferred location in the Eastern U.S. and flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time.
Technical Skills
Familiarity with real estate-related software and experience in front-of-meter solar and battery storage projects.
Skills
Strong problem-solving abilities, independence, and effective communication with stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:Valid driver's license.
