Proper Hospitality is seeking a motivated, service-driven Front Office Manager to join the team at Shelborne Miami Beach by Proper, a renowned hotel re-opening and debuting in our portfolio in early 2025.
Our property will introduce four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar-lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities will include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space.
The Front Office Manager ensures exceptional guest satisfaction and the efficient operation of the Front Office department. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
Responsibilities:Lead, motivate, and influence team members through effective communication and interpersonal skillsServe as a role model for the Front Office department, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and professionalismFoster positive working relationships with all hotel departments to enhance overall guest experienceContinuously strive to improve guest and team member satisfactionEvaluate team performance, providing positive feedback and implementing disciplinary action when necessaryEmbrace and promote the hotel's ethos, reflecting core values of connection, innovation, and excellenceGreet guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at the front deskCommunicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and other departments, both verbally and in writingMaintain confidentiality of guest information and adhere to privacy regulationsAddress and resolve guest concerns promptly and efficientlyPromote hotel services, amenities, and upgrades to enhance guest experiences and maximize revenueProvide training to the team on identifying upselling opportunities and implementing effective sales strategiesEmpower team members to resolve guest issues and escalate when necessaryConduct Forbes training sessions focusing on attention to detail and anticipatory serviceEnsure completion of all daily tasks, both in the morning and evening shifts.Coordinate with valet operations to ensure professional and courteous guest greetingsAdhere to all departmental policies, service procedures, and standardsManage department expenses to meet or exceed budgeted financial goalsMake sound financial decisions in line with organizational objectivesAssist the Director of Rooms with special projects as neededAttend mandatory hotel meetings in the absence of the Director of Rooms
Qualifications:Preferred college degree or certification in hospitalityPrevious experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or upscale establishmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageousStrong problem-solving abilities and ability to remain calm under pressureExceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detailProfessional appearance and demeanor, demonstrating integrity and discretionFlexibility to work all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States
