Memorial Blood Centers (MBC.ORG), a division of Innovative Blood Resources (www.innovativebloodresources.org), has been saving and sustaining lives since 1948. We supply blood and blood components, state-of-the-art laboratory services, and biomedical expertise to area healthcare partners, national blood centers, biotechnology companies, research institutions, and international clients. Operating 10 donor centers and conducting hundreds of blood drives each month, we are proud to be an independent nonprofit that supplies over 30 area hospitals and more than a dozen air ambulances with life-saving blood-from our community, for our community.Responsibilities

Summary:

Responsible for the delivery and pick-up of blood components from Memorial Blood Centers' service hospitals and any blood drives. May assist other departments with deliveries that need to be made.$2500 Sign on BonusSchedule:

8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - FridayJob Responsibilities:1. Supports and promotes Memorial Blood Centers' practices to ensure excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

2. Ensures correct and timely packaging of blood components and supplies for transport. Provides timely delivery and pick-up as directed by Hospital Services and other departments within the blood center, as schedule permits.

3. Demonstrates complete understanding and complies with established policies and procedures relating to assigned tasks; adheres to safety policies and procedures.

4. Promotes teamwork and communication internally and externally. Maintains a professional attitude and appearance. Demonstrates dependability, punctuality and cooperation.

5. Participates in continuing education training. Attends staff meetings and completes competency testing on time.

6. Maintains vehicles, supplies and required forms and reports. Responsible for maintaining records of all miles driven on a given day/shift.

Physical Demands:Ability to lift 50 poundsOther:Valid driver's license and clean driving record.2 Years driving experience including highway and residentialAbility to work well with others and independently; good communication skills both oral and written; displays a professional manner. Ability to work well under pressure.Position involves the transportation and handling of potentially infectious materials (i.e., blood and body fluids).
