The Equipment Operator - PFAS Remediation
JOB SUMMARY
The Equipment Operator - PFAS Remediation is responsible for the operation and support functions of a Mobile Remediation System Plant utilized to support Alaska's needs for Spill Prevention and Response operations of contaminated soil. The Operator will be part of a team of Operators who will provide multiple support functions to civil and plant operations to complete remediation activities of the current project. * This is a temporary position beginning approximately July 2024 until the project is complete. * ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Demonstrate the ability to understand the mechanical process of the soil Mobile Remediation System (MSR) plant and process. Operate a mini-excavator, skid-steer, and loader to provide support operations of segregating soil for processing, loading the plant conveyor system, and collection of clean soil post treatment. Provide equipment support for mobilization and demobilization of job site, MSR Plant, and associated process requirements. Operate Tractor and trailer combinations in the transportation of remediation materials and heavy equipment as needed. Erect, deconstruct, install signage, dewater, build and maintain temporary containment pits. Monitor equipment operation and identify malfunctions. Interpret load charts and determine load capacities for different tractor-trailer configurations. Inspect all load-securing devices. Clean, store and maintain equipment as required. Prepare and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require. Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures. Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. A minimum one (1) year of work experience operating skid-steer, front end loader and/or excavator required. Must take and pass an AES written and practical equipment certification test on all equipment. Ability to pass a Federal Access Background Check. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years of experience operating heavy equipment preferred. Previous work experience operating man lifts preferred. Previous experience operating heavy equipment in the Construction / Oil & Gas industry preferred. Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDLA) preferred. Current US DOT Medical Card preferred. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
