A law firm in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking a skilled Patent Agent and Technical Specialist to enhance their intellectual property team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics, and demonstrate robust expertise in patent application preparation and prosecution. A minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience, along with technical experience in wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking, is required.Duties:Prepare and prosecute patent applications, including drafting detailed claims and specifications.Manage the patent application process from filing to final approval, including responding to office actions.Conduct thorough technical analyses related to wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Perform prior art searches and provide assessments on patentability.Collaborate with inventors and clients to strategize patent portfolios and intellectual property protections.Review and analyze technical documents and patent filings for accuracy and compliance.Provide technical and legal advice on intellectual property matters.Prepare reports and updates on patent application statuses and strategies.Stay informed about changes in patent laws and advancements in relevant technical fields.Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience.Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics.Technical experience with wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Proven skills in preparing and prosecuting patent applications.Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Education:Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics.Certifications:Registration with the USPTO is preferred.Skills:Expertise in patent application preparation and prosecution.In-depth knowledge of wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.Strong analytical and research skills.Excellent organizational and attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.Job Location:Benefits Offered:Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) plan with employer contributions.Opportunities for professional development and career growth.Collaborative and supportive work environment.
