A law firm in Durham, NC, seeks a skilled Patent Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, providing strategic IP counseling, and conducting due diligence investigations.Job Duties:Draft and prosecute patent applications in various technical fields.Partner with the firm's team and in-house groups to develop and implement comprehensive global IP strategies.Prepare opinions of counsel regarding patent validity, infringement, and enforceability.Conduct due diligence investigations, freedom-to-operate analyses, and landscape assessments.Engage in client-facing interactions to provide strategic IP counseling and advice.Requirements:A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field or equivalent experience.Must be a member of the U.S. Patent Bar.Proven experience in patent drafting and prosecution is required.Minimum of 2 years of experience, specifically in patent drafting and prosecution.Skills:Strong understanding of patent law and regulations.Ability to analyze technical documents and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.Proficiency in conducting patent searches and prior art analyses.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.Education and Certifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related fields.Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to practice law in at least one state, preferably North Carolina.
