Oct 07, 2024Profile:A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Practice Innovation and Knowledge Attorney (Transactional) with 5+ years of increasingly responsible practitioner experience in the assigned practice area of law. The candidate will act as a liaison between the Practice Innovation team and the assigned Department, managing Department-specific innovation and knowledge management initiatives. Responsibilities include collaborating with lawyers and operations professionals, scoping and managing practice innovation projects, implementing modern knowledge delivery systems, and monitoring the legal innovation landscape.Duties:Manage Department-specific innovation and knowledge management initiatives.Collaborate with lawyers and operations professionals to assess relevant practice area innovation and knowledge needs.Conceptualize strategies to achieve business objectives centered on client service, efficiency, transparency, and predictability.Initiate, scope, and manage practice innovation and knowledge projects.Develop and implement modern knowledge delivery systems, including those driven by artificial intelligence.Build relationships with department leaders to align strategic objectives with innovation initiatives.Implement innovative solutions and promote adoption among practitioners.Coordinate innovation efforts across Departments.Curate, manage, and make easily accessible work product precedents, forms, and templates.Provide direct support to practitioners in locating practice-related knowledge.Monitor legal and market practice developments and trends.Identify opportunities to collect and leverage structured data from repositories and databases.Collaborate with Pricing and Legal Project Management team to collect matter data and train lawyers in new technologies and workflows.Scope, test, and recommend solutions to practice pain-points.Monitor the legal innovation landscape and provide expertise on legal innovation.Requirements:5+ years of practitioner experience in the assigned practice area of law.Current Bar admission in a jurisdiction where the Firm has an office.Experience at an Am Law 200 firm.Familiarity with legal innovation and technology ecosystem preferred.Interest in artificial intelligence and its potential use cases in the legal profession.Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.Strong business analysis and strategic thinking skills.Excellent client service, judgment, and confidentiality.Proficiency in learning and adapting to new technologies.Education:Bachelor’s Degree and J.D. required.Certifications:Current Bar admission in a jurisdiction where the Firm has an office.
