A law firm seeks an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to provide comprehensive estate planning services to clients. The position involves client consultations, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and managing estate planning processes to meet clients' needs. This full-time role requires the attorney to be in the office five days a week.Duties:Conduct consultations with prospective and existing clients to gather information and offer estate planning recommendations.Analyze client estates and prepare appropriate estate planning documents.Review existing estate plans and propose necessary updates or changes.Prepare and present fee quotes for estate planning services.Manage client engagement processes, including executing engagement agreements and collecting fees.Complete necessary documentation such as Client Intake Forms and Design Sheets.Utilize task management systems (e.g., Lawcus, Asana) to manage workflow, respond to emails, and ensure timely completion of tasks.Review and finalize estate plans to ensure they align with client wishes and legal requirements.Conduct client reviews to explain estate plans, address concerns, and answer questions.Identify opportunities to refer clients to affiliated financial advisors and handle appropriate disclosures.Maintain detailed notes of client meetings and communications, ensuring accurate records are kept.Participate in regular attorney meetings and estate planning department discussions to address complex client matters.Attend all-staff and department meetings periodically.Handle additional tasks as assigned.Requirements:Licensed to practice law in California.Certified Specialist in Trusts, Wills, and Probate (preferred).Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate planning.Strong knowledge of income, gift, and estate tax laws.Notary Public certification is a plus.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Additional training and ongoing education in estate planning are preferred.Certifications:Licensed attorney by the California State Bar.Certification as a specialist in trusts, wills, and probate is preferred but not required.Skills:Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal abilities and client management skills.High attention to detail, with strong proofreading and organizational skills.Proficiency in time management and task management software.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.This role provides the opportunity to engage with clients on meaningful estate planning matters, helping them secure their financial futures and manage their assets.
