Role Summary
The Associate Director, US Commercial Data Scientist reports into Head of Analytics within the US CDSO department that that oversees corporate and pipeline strategy, business development, business insights, and shared operations among other responsibilities. The Associate Director, US Commercial Data Scientist will play a critical role in elevating data driven decision across the organization through ownership of enterprise analytical capabilities, synthesizing analytical projects into persuasive presentations, and acting in partnership with commercial functions and business development for effective decisions.
Specific Responsibilities:
Develops data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence and data model plans to execute analytics projects and programs across the Servier portfolioLeads the design, assessment and interpretation of data in a statistically relevant context to support data needs for the company's portfolioServes as a partner to analytics and IT stakeholders to identify technical resources needed to answer key business questions and knowledge gaps that can be addressed via analyticsEvaluates key business challenges and directs the execution of complex, ambiguous analytical projects which have cross-functional impactIs responsible for partnering with the US Enterprise data strategy and enablement to create, maintain/update the right data assets and ecosystem for the US Servier Enterprise and BI&A teamStays at the forefront of industry trends and innovation; helps keep the BI&A team optimized in how it thinks about the intersection of data, technology, and engagement avenues with key stakeholdersLeads the synthesis of complex information, opportunity identification, and development of actionable conclusions and recommendations.Contributes complex data driven insights and strategic input to the brand plans situation analysis in support of the overall analytics roadmap. Provides input to help shape the annual brand plan, brand strategies, launch plans, and/or new product development plans.Develops an inventory of analytical methodologies and vendors that can be used to ensure consistent approaches are applied across brands and which support sustainable/predictable processes, business rules, and solutions. Determines required data sources (internal and external) to address business questions.Continually develop the analytical capabilities supporting strategic and tactical decision making for a growing organization and a portfolio of commercial and pipeline product candidates.Ensure that all analytical projects are implemented based on the most appropriate statistical and analytical methodologies, and partner with BI&A leads to ensure that key results are synthesized into easily understandable and persuasive presentations with insights that can have a measurable impact.Leads engagements, provides guidance, and formal feedback with external vendor partners on strategic initiatives as neededSkills and Education:
BS/BA degree in business, science or quantitative disciplines such as mathematics, engineering, or statistics and 7+ years of experience using analytical techniques to address business questions; relevant advanced degree and consulting experience preferredAbility to engage with executive stakeholders to translate business problems into analytics solutionsExpertise in using advanced analytics to drive business value and make informed decisions within a strategic organization.Prior experience developing a marketing mix, patient journey, Account-HCP hierarchy affiliations, KOL network map, etc. preferredExperience utilizing medical and pharmacy claims data or HER data required, with working knowledge of specialty pharmacy, specialty distribution, and hub data preferredExperience within the oncology therapeutic area or rare disease preferredWorking knowledge of marketing, omnichannel, digital data in healthcare marketStrong understanding of statistical methodology, machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligenceDemonstrated ability using analytical techniques to address business questions. Ability to integrate and synthesize both primary and secondary information to create fact-based cohesive stories, insights, and actionable and persuasive recommendationsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and Word; broad-based awareness and experience in MS Access.Strong skills in SAS, Python, and/or R, Tableau, PowerBI, and/or other modelling softwareExperience utilizing cloud based data warehouse environments to stricture and retrieve dataWorking knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions and dataForward-looking business acumen, with strategic understanding of pharmaceutical sales, marketing, market access, and medical affairsAdept communication skills, including ability to summarize complex issues concisely and listen effectively to concerns and problemsCross-functional collaboration skills and ability to work with people at different levels from various parts of the organizationOther Relevant Information:'
