The Fastening Engineering position in Global Assembly will lead the day-to-day operations at our plant in Casa Grande, AZ. In this position, you will lead the implementation of fastening process on the plant floor. This is a unique opportunity to set up and run a world-class plant to build a world-class vehicle, the applicant must be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our General Assembly team.
You Will:
Develop organizational plans and recruit, hire and manage the fastening team.Monitor key performance indicators for Fastening (KPIs) such as defects, torque calibration, fastening down time, etc.Supervise fastening team members during the production build and interface with Production Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, and Design Engineers to improve the manufacturing process in the GA shop.Collaborate with quality engineering teams to analyze defects and implement process improvements to minimize product nonconformance.Set up fastening verification and audit process in the plant.Drive commonization of fasteners with assembly-friendly solutions.Create an environment where every employee is valued for their contributions, and they understand how they impact the success of the company.Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines.Drive world class quality for our luxury vehicle through in station process control and driving defect resolution to the point of fit.Lead the team in putting a process in placed to control cost, improve quality and increase productivity throughout the department.Analyze and evaluate current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness (e.g., 6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).Analyze and control change costs and quality issues over the course of the day.Develop and implement training plans for supervisors and team members.Set goals and communicate them to the team.Responsible to monitoring and improve the fastening equipment availability by improving the average time to repair (MTTR) and the average time between failures (MTBF).Responsible to develop the preventive maintenance system for fastening.Develop and maintain the process for Tool Calibration.Responsible to follow up the achievement of Quality Management System (QMS-ISO 9001)Develop and implement Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and other risk mitigation tools to address potential manufacturing risks.Validate and approve equipment, tooling, and fixtures for production, ensuring they meet required standards.Lead the development and integration of new processes and equipment for new product introductions or line extensions.Lead and manage multiple projects (timelines), including cost reduction initiatives, process improvement, and technology upgrades, from concept through implementation.Communicate effectively with stakeholders and management on project status, progress, and challenges.You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering fieldAt least 3+ years of experience in manufacturingExperience in fastening process (ideally setting up DC tooling controllers)Demonstrated leadership ability to build outstanding teams and interface well with senior management.Experience methodizing equipment efficiency.Familiarity with automated manufacturing equipment.Experience in factory environments hiring and training associates to support new products and processes.Exemplary verbal, written and presentation skills.Preferred Skills:
