DescriptionOur team is looking for Software Development Engineers who love listening to our customers, working as a team, and building large scalable systems. This is an opportunity to build and improve systems that will help Fulfillment Centers (FCs i.e. Amazon Warehouses) around the world to operate efficiently by providing information and insights to FC operators and software services which rely on real time information for planning and staffing. These systems provide aggregate data and build an end-to-end picture of FC state to help users make key decisions to improve efficiency and staff optimally. These decisions impact delivery of packages to Amazon customers and your work will directly influence the Amazon business and customer promise. As a member of this team, you will get the opportunity to work on highly visible, innovative projects that directly impact the customer experience. You will be involved in all the aspects of the software development cycle including scoping, design, implementation, testing & delivery of your product. The position has great opportunity for growth.Key job responsibilitiesIn this position you will partner with product managers, software engineers, user experience designers and other teams. A successful candidate will have an established background with strong technical ability, bar raising engineering skills, great communication skills and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it.AFTs Workforce Optimization team delivers innovative platforms and products to automate labor management and staffing decisions across processes and functions at Amazons global fulfillment network locations.Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience programming with at least one software programming languagePreferred Qualifications- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
