Job Description
The School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE) Research Advancement (RA) Team is looking for an individual interested in making a difference in the world by directly supporting researchers who are making globally impactful advances in research and is seeking a career with various opportunities for growth.
The Research Advancement Administrator Senior position is primarily dedicated to pre-award administration but will include limited post-award functions. The successful candidate is responsible for the development, preparation, and submission of sponsored project proposals to various funding agencies across all engineering schools. This position requires people skills and leadership. A demeanor that is friendly, encouraging, and helpful is essential. It is important to be able to work with people with a wide range of diversity of background, skill level, culture, and language. This position is expected to provide high-level support for the 7 Schools within the Fulton School of Engineering (FSE), as well as assist with special projects.

Working Environment
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting.Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties.Ability to work both independently or within a complex structured team.Normally receives no instructions on routine work and general instructions on new assignments with review of completed tasks.Exercises judgment within generally defined practices & policies in selecting methods & techniques for obtaining solutions.Flexible Work Options

Minimum Qualifications

Essential Duties
Provides guidance and counsel during proposal development, pre-submission administrative review, document management, and uploading of grant and contract proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies.Develops and implements a training program, identifying training needs across units.Assists Research Lead with special projects as needed including workshops, training sessions, targeted opportunity searches, and project management/development collaboration.Independently interprets, verifies, and assess to ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable regulatory and financial compliance requirements. Stays current on compliance regulations in all areas of research administration.Accomplishes tasks utilizing strong organization and communication skills and customer service focus.Submits applications to Office of Research and Sponsored Project Administration for review, signature, and transmittal to sponsor.Reviews funding announcements and providing guidance on eligibility and sponsor requirements.Assists and completes other sponsor required forms and reviews for compliance (current and pending support, bio sketches).Contacts sponsors for additional clarification of application guidelines.Prepares budgets, including complex budgets (task-based budgets) and/or sponsor specific budget forms. Including cost share.Reviews proposals against guidelines before sending to the Office of Research and Sponsored Project Administration.Assists sub-recipients with questions related to completing sub-recipient forms.Completes administrative information according to sponsor guidelines.Completes and routes all internal forms using information provided by investigator.Assists with post submission action items requested by the sponsor such as just-in-time requests, revised budgets, scope of work, additional certifications, etc.
