The
Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager
is responsible for negotiating national agreements for a group purchasing organization (GPO) within the
Facilities Operations and Capital Construction sectors . This role involves identifying supply sources, managing supplier relationships, and securing competitive pricing and contract terms for GPO members. Additional responsibilities may include overseeing ad-hoc member projects and contributing to programs under managerial direction. The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge in
design and construction principles, sourcing, vendor management, and implementation skills .ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute strategic sourcing plans aligned with client programs.Lead sourcing initiatives for medium-to-high complexity categories with an annual spend portfolio of $100M-$200M.Identify, evaluate, and negotiate supplier agreements to achieve optimal terms and drive continuous process improvements.Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends and innovations.Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance and resolve supply chain issues proactively.Oversee contract development, execution, implementation, and compliance.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals.Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier and sourcing activities.Manage bulk-commitment and bulk-buy programs, coordinating with project accounting teams and tracking manufacturing and delivery schedules.Plan and execute project timelines for assigned categories.Analyze spend and quantity data for both commodity and non-commodity items.Translate objectives into actionable project plans and manage negotiations to completion within designated timeframes.Develop sourcing strategies for complex categories with guidance from senior management.Oversee the end-to-end sourcing process, including market research, RFI/RFP preparation, supplier evaluation, and contract launch.Present strategies and awards to customer-led advisory and supply chain boards.Build and maintain customer relationships through effective communication, presentations, and understanding of needs.Collaborate with legal, financial, and account management teams to meet sourcing goals.Forecast equipment and material needs, ensuring alignment with project pipelines.Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and organizational goals.Perform additional duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or a similar certification is preferred.Occasional travel is required.About the RoleThis position focuses on delivering best-in-class sourcing strategies, managing significant spend portfolios, and fostering supplier relationships to drive value for GPO members.
