OverviewSterile Processing Tech - Nights (11p - 7a) and On Call
What will you do:Collects, decontaminate, package and sterilize OR instrumentation .
Responsible for pick up and transportation of soiled instrumentation from patient care areas to the decontamination area for cleaning and decontamination of soiled surgical instruments and equipment. Responsible for inspection and preparation of items before distribution or further processing; sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. Performs monitoring of physical, chemical, and biological sterilization cycles. Maintains sterility processes while distributing items to other departments. Responsible for collecting sterile supplies and equipment for cases posted on the Operating Room schedule on a daily basis. Responsible for checking and storing sterile supplies. Links surgeon preference cards to the appropriate case and pulls needed supplies for each surgery. Provide resource to the Operating Room suite. The sterile processing technician will be proficient in all areas of the sterile processing department.What you will need:High school diploma or GEDCertified Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technologist preferredSterile Processing Technician Certification required within 12 months of hire or as soon as 400 hours of hands on care is obtained meeting eligibility requirements to sit for certification exam.Must be able to work night shift and take call#Indeed456
