Job Description

The Global Director of Cash Processing Optimization will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized processes for cash handling, processing, and reconciliation across all global operations. This role aims to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency throughout the company’s cash management functions. The Director will collaborate with regional teams to establish the best global practices, enforce policies, and drive continuous improvement across various markets while balancing regional regulatory requirements. This role will be accountable to deliver annual cost productivity targets.

The successful candidate will bring a strong background in global operations and process optimization, with the ability to lead transformational initiatives that align with corporate objectives and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Standardization:

o Design and implement global cash processing standards to ensure uniformity in procedures, controls, and compliance across all regions.

o Develop and document cash handling best practices, workflows, and operational guidelines to optimize performance, security, and accuracy.

o Collaborate with regional teams to ensure local regulatory requirements are integrated into the global standards while maintaining consistency.

Global Strategy & Alignment:

o Define and execute a strategic roadmap for global cash processing standardization, aligned with the company’s overall operational and financial objectives.

o Work closely with senior leadership, regional directors, and cross-functional teams (Finance, Compliance, IT) to drive alignment and adoption of standardized processes.

o Lead initiatives to harmonize cash-related operations and reduce discrepancies between regions.

Operational Efficiency & Optimization:

o Deliver measurable improvements in cost productivity and optimize value streams, resulting in streamlined operations and enhanced profitability.

o Identify opportunities to streamline cash processing workflows and optimize resources through automation, system integration, and improved methodologies.

o Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor the effectiveness of standardized processes and continuously drive improvement.

o Leverage data analytics to evaluate performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and recommend process improvements.

Compliance & Risk Management:

o Ensure that standardized cash processing procedures comply with global regulations, internal controls, and external auditing requirements.

o Develop and enforce risk mitigation strategies to minimize operational risks, fraud, theft, and security breaches.

o Work closely with compliance teams to adapt processes based on evolving regulatory landscapes.

Change Management:

o Lead change management efforts to ensure seamless implementation and adoption of new cash processing standards across different regions and departments.

o Provide training, support, and communication strategies to help teams transition to standardized processes effectively.

o Manage resistance to change by demonstrating the value and benefits of process standardization.

Technology Integration & Innovation:

o Partner with IT and technology vendors to select and implement systems that support the global standardization of cash management processes.

o Evaluate and integrate automation technologies and solutions that enhance efficiency, security, and accuracy in cash handling.

o Stay updated on the latest industry technologies and innovations in cash management and apply these insights to drive continuous improvement.

Team Leadership:

o Lead and mentor a team of professionals tasked with the standardization of global cash processes, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

o Coordinate with regional leadership to ensure that teams are equipped with the training and tools needed to implement and maintain standardized processes.

o Ensure consistent communication and collaboration between regional and global teams.

Vendor & Partner Management:

o Establish global partnerships with cash handling service providers, ensuring adherence to standardized practices and contractual obligations.

o Negotiate and manage service level agreements (SLAs) that reflect the global cash processing standards.

Key Qualifications:

o Strong results-oriented background with a proven ability to drive cost productivity improvements, optimizing resources to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.

o A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is essential. An advanced degree (MBA or a Master’s in Industrial Engineering, Operations) is highly preferred.

o 10+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering & Process Optimization:

o Demonstrated expertise in process engineering, with the ability to design and optimize complex, large-scale workflows.

o Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, and other methodologies used to reduce inefficiencies, waste, and improve operational effectiveness.

o Experience in workplace analysis and systems design, specifically in creating an efficient cash handling and processing environment

Global Operations & Standardization:

o Experience in managing multi-regional or global operations, with a focus on aligning local and global processes while ensuring compliance with different regulatory frameworks.

o Ability to develop, implement, and enforce global cash processing standards across various regions, balancing consistency with regional adaptations as necessary.

o Experience leading standardization projects that harmonize cash-related workflows, improve security measures, and streamline operations on an international scale.

o Experience in change management, with the ability to drive organizational alignment and adoption of standardized processes.

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and process improvement.

o Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders.

o Proficiency in ERP systems, and process automation technologies.

Preferred Skills:

o Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks governing cash handling and financial transactions.

o Experience in the banking, retail, or cash logistics industries.

o Lean or other process improvement certifications.

o Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese or French

o Ability to travel internationally as required.
