Team & RoleThis leader will oversee our Employee Relations, Compliance, and HR Policy function within Medallia's People & Culture (HR) team. The Director, Employee Relations and HR Policy will advise and assist Medallia Human Resource Business Partners and Leaders across the organization with complex employee relations investigations and consultations.This individual will also partner cross-functionally to consult on international HR policy in the EMEA and APAC regions. This role will manage a small team and reports directly to our EVP, Chief People Officer.Responsibilities

Program Development: Design, lead, and continuously improve programs focused on employee relations and enhancing employee morale.Policy Maintenance: Maintain, recommend, and implement objectives, policies, and procedures that support the organization's goals.Investigations: Conduct thorough, timely, and impartial investigations into employee grievances and relations issues, ensuring well organized documentation and recommendations that comply with Medallia policy and applicable law.Data Analysis: Rigorously track and analyze data related to employee relations to identify trends and make proactive recommendationsEmployee Counseling: Provide counsel to employees on issues related to EEO, ADA, performance, and other key policies and guidelines.Legal and Policy Consultation: Work closely with employment legal, outside counsel, and HRBPs to provide consultation on employment law and HR policy, including matters such as disciplinary proceedings, involuntary separations, sensitive performance management issues, and compliance with employment-related laws and regulations.Policy Implementation: In partnership with the HRBP team, project manage the rollout of new country-specific HR policies and practices.Global Projects: Participate in regional and international projects to support the business as we scale.CANDIDATE LOCATION: This role is remote but candidates need to be based in the Northeast (Maine to Virginia)Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications7+ years experience in an Employee Relations, HR Policy, and/or HR Compliance2+ years experience leading a teamJuris Doctorate Degree (JD) or LLM Degree is requiredPrior experience with employment law, complex employment advising, and knowledge of employment best practicesPreferred QualificationsPrior experience working at a SaaS company or similar tech environment strongly preferredPrior experience in Project Management or a PMP preferredAbility to efficiently handle and organize multiple cases at a time in a fastpaced environmentAble to handle confidential information in a mature and professional mannerDemonstrates solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business needMedallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $156,000-190,000 USD. This position is bonus eligible. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. Medallia considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, candidate's work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
