The Sous Chef works closely with the Executive Chef to plan and direct food preparation in kitchens. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; for OEM associates overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
  • Ability to work independently and handle complex issues.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Ability to manage financial data and basic math.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and maintain composure.

Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative menus that align with the restaurant’s vision.
  • Train kitchen staff on policies, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Organize schedules and oversee kitchen operations.
  • Design and execute aesthetic plating presentations.
  • Ensure hygiene and food safety standards are met.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and budget.
  • Maintain friendly, service-oriented interactions with guests and staff.
  • Ensure kitchen staff meets job expectations and performance standards.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Minimize waste, spoilage, and overproduction.
  • Review forecasts, house counts, and VIP lists.
  • Monitor banquet and catering activities, and maintain kitchen inventories.
  • Assist in achieving departmental goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and certifications.
