The position of

Senior Designer

contributes to the success of Studio 7 Design Group (S7) by creating high quality, functional, and aesthetically pleasing design deliverables to clients. The Senior Designer is responsible for execution & completion on all phases of design including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Administration, and Installation. The Senior Designer will determine optimal furniture selection and placement for each project, all while adhering to relevant blueprint, building code, and inspection requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

Works with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for the space(s) to be designed

Collaborates with architects, engineers, painters, and builders to understand how interior space should function, appear, and be furnished

Assess space requirements and analyze movement and use patterns of the space

Prepares sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs to client

Consults with client to select materials, furnishings, and decor

Uses design applications to prepare and illustrate final plans

Determines timelines and project costs and presents accurate estimates to clients

Orders or obtains necessary materials, adhering to project and budget specifications

Oversees the installation of materials, furniture, and other design elements

Ensures client satisfaction by visiting the project on completion with the client

Resolves client complaints or concerns

Maintains current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design

Mentors, supports and coaches junior design staff & interns

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years experience in high-end interior design (commercial and/or residential)

Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills

Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors

Strong visual design skills including proportion and aesthetics

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong in computer-aided design (CAD/Revit) software

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Advanced knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art signage, color and materials to carryout design intent

Advanced knowledge of building codes and inspection regulations related to interiors

Prior project management experience as client’s main point of contact

Demonstrated passion for art, architecture, and design

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field required

Fluency in computer-aided design (CAD/Revit) required

Interior design certification highly preferred

At least five years of related experience required

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Must be able to distinguish between colors

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
