Johnson & Johnson MedTech is currently recruiting for a Senior Manager, US Communications, Surgery. This is a hybrid position with 3 days required in office in either our Raritan NJ, Santa Clara CA, or Jacksonville FL office.

Position Details

Reporting to the Director, US Communications, Surgery, this critical role will manage strategic communication for the Surgery business across the US region. This is a comprehensive communications role, extending across internal and external communications and covering employee and culture communications, executive communications, critical messaging and narrative development, thought leadership, media relations and social media, and campaign activations.

The Senior Manager, US Communications, Surgery will work closely with the Director to serve as a valued counselor to the Surgery Region Leadership Team. This role will be required to build a deep understanding of the business, technology development and strategy, and market opportunities that will inform an integrated global communications plan in support of business objectives.

This will be a highly visible role as you will work in close collaboration with the Johnson & Johnson regional communications teams, MedTech global communications, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Legal, Johnson & Johnson leadership, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner in developing and implementing the integrated global communications plan for multiple audiences in support of Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s reputation as a leader in Surgery, the US Surgery business objectives, and the science and innovation pipeline.

Develop and implement new product introductions, medical evidence, and innovation communications.

Serve as a valued counselor to the Region Leadership team to implement communications programs and executive thought leadership in support of commercial success while also partnering with a cross-functional leadership team to advance organizational priorities and drive strategy alignment.

Lead employee and culture communications, advancing culture and talent initiatives to encourage and increase engagement, retention, productivity.

Proactively impact results across earned and paid media and social media channels and partner to manage issues as needed.

QualificationsEducation:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required in communication, journalism, PR, public affairs, or closely related field.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

Minimum Of Eight (8) Years Of Experience Managing Communication in a company, NGO, Government Agency Or Public Relations Agency.

Demonstrated ability to build deep, authentic, successful relationships with top executives and scientists and strong influence with senior internal and external partners.

Exceptional attention to detail with superior writing and presentation development skills.

Proven track record of successful, independent public relations/communications, corporate communication, science communication, product communication, public affairs, and/or media relations achievements.

Deep understanding of media and business analytics, traditional media, digital and social platforms and strong experience with national and local consumer, professional/trade and social media.

Experience running internal communications programs focused on building culture and activating an organization around shared business objectives.

Experience in managing budgets, agency partners, and resource allocation across large critical projects.

Preferred:

Current or past work experience in both external communications or marketing and organizational communications is preferred.

Proven experience in healthcare communications is preferred.

Other:

Up to 15% domestic and international travel required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550.

California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is $136,000 to $234,140.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year.

Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year.

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
