DescriptionTo analyze business needs to develop and implement solutions that leverage systems and processes with a considerable degree of latitude. Works with the business to understand their needs related to information technology and enhance business process by promoting new functionality. Using advanced knowledge of the organization’s technology infrastructure and specific software applications assist the business to implement strategic vision through data. Considered a stakeholder/contributor on complex systems projects and project teams.ResponsibilitiesSupport the development, maintenance, and management of data objects, server jobs and advise on efficient SQL practices/queries.Evaluate and define functional requirements for analytics and business intelligence (BI) solutions.Retrieve, analyze and validate data and test accuracy of reported results.Work with project leads to understand requirements and propose key solutions to drive effective decision-making and influence business objectives.Analyze and summarize business operations, customer and/or economic data in order to improve ETL/Job Stream and optimize operating effectiveness.Identify trends and patterns in system data; pursue improvements to improve efficiency and increased server performance.Conduct root cause analysis to identify development opportunities and recommend applicable business solutions or improvements.Support the development of new and/or modification of existing database/data warehouse/data mart and business intelligence solutions to meet business and system requirements.Collaborate with business units and senior management to conduct needs assessment to support business unit objectives.Support complex Data Science and Big Data projects.Effectively communicate data outcomes to business stakeholders and leadership.Evaluate and enhance the ETL and Data Governance framework.Interact with other Internal Support (ETS) staff, business units (end users) in problem resolution efforts.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of ETL processes, tools and applicable industry best practices.Advanced knowledge of importing data from varying database environments (SQL, Oracle, DB2, etc).Advanced/significant experience developing SQL solutions utilizing SQL Server Integration Studios (SSIS).Experience in problem resolution including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues.Experience that demonstrates the ability to research, compile, and document data, business processes, and workflow.Experience with the process in sourcing raw data and cleansing techniques.Experience with data warehousing, data cleaning, and other analytical techniques required for data usage.Familiarity with data models, design tools, business/technical requirements, statistical programming languages, data queries.Demonstrates a key understanding of multiple database concepts and data flows.Familiarity with mapping techniques and data pipelines.Familiar with identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions.Effective skill in presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely.Effective skill in collecting and manipulating data used in effective decision making.Basic verbal and written communication skills.Basic database and presentation software skills.Basic word processing and spreadsheet software skills.Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience.Desired - Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
