Northwest Campus is the branch campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks serving the Bering Strait Region. This position is a lead administrative position, working closely with the campus director to lead program development.

As Assistant to the Director, you will join a hardworking team whose primary goal is to provide accessible education to Alaska Native & other rural communities across Interior Alaska. The Assistant provides critical, day-to-day support to the Director, including managing and tracking their schedule, projects, and campus correspondence. This role also supports other NWC departments in communications, marketing, and building management. In short, the Assistant ensures that the backend administrative duties of the campus run smoothly so that our programs and our students have the chance to shine.

To thrive in this role, initiative, organization, and time management skills are essential. You must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with a diverse group of people, both internal and external. Adaptability and flexibility are also key, as procedures, policies, and priorities can change without warning. Additionally, your proficient computer skills, primarily in Google Suite applications, will serve you well in this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and three years progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Northwest campus in Nome, AK. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and

UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 80, based on education and experience.
