DescriptionThe Director of Sales provides leadership to the sales organization and develops the overall sales strategy, operational plans, and processes that drive revenue growth and accomplish financial objectives. Establishes and implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales organization's operations. The Director of Sales oversees goal-setting processes for all levels of the sales organization and uses data and technology to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance. Creates capabilities to effectively analyze the business environment, identify and understand competitors, and retain and expand the customer base. Additionally, the Director of Sales collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify market needs and innovate new solutions. Builds effective sales and support teams with recruiting, mentoring, and development programs. May personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high-value sales.RequirementsLeading a highly productive and professional sales team by recruiting and hiring talented sales professionals.Coaching and developing the team by mentoring and setting sales goals.Ensure the team has adequate training on all technology tools to aid in their success.Manage all sales processes by producing sales forecasts and reports, researching the market and competitors, and collaborating with the marketing to develop effective promotional materials.Identifying where improvements can be made and developing sales plans and strategies to achieve sales goals.Manage large/key accounts by working with local sales representatives and regular contact with customer base.Actively participate in national and local construction associations to build company reputation and gain industry knowledge.Manage customer satisfaction by understanding the full process and working with operations and dispatch to create a highly engaging and positive experience for customers.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a business-related field. Master’s degree in a business-related field would be advantageous.Ten years of experience in the sales field with increasing responsibility related to client acquisition and team management.Three to five years of experience in the Building Materials Industry preferred.Intermediate PC skills with experience in Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.Ability to interact at the Senior Leadership Level of the organization.Experience with financial analysis, negotiations, and contract management.Strong understanding of construction projects from acquisition to completion.Strong leadership, customer service, and sales skills.Motivational and influential.Ability to hire, ramp up, lead, and motivate sales teams to high performance.Proven track record of building and managing professional sales teams in a high performing, rapidly growing environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly verbally and in writing.Capable of interacting in a positive and professional manner while coaching employees to ensure that all expectations are understood and met.Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization.Ability to self-manage priorities and deliverables.Flexible in responding to changing demands, goals, timelines, and priorities.Strategic skills to evaluate data and use it to make decisions.Understanding of market trends and adaptability to follow those trends.Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
