Job Title: Samoan Reviewer/Editor/Certifier, DOJ LSS Location: National Capital Region (NCR) - Washington, DC 20540 US (Primary) Category: Contractors Summary: The Unconventional (TU) is seeking a qualified Reviewer/Editor/Certifier to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) with Translation, Interpretation, Transcription and other Linguistic Support Services (LSS). This role involves translating various documents and media content, as well as providing ancillary services such as court and deposition interpretation. The source material will contain legal, business, public administrative, medical, scientific, financial, historical, geographical, and military terminology. The material to be translated, transcribed, or interpreted is legal in nature and may be provided in various formats, including electronic or hard copies of books, journal articles, reports, manuscripts, letters, legal documents, and audio or video files. The substance of the materials may vary from highly complex, technical, and specialized information to informal language. All material made available to the Contractor will be considered "sensitive," requiring strict controls and confidentiality measures at all times. Job Requirements: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the required language with superior skills in English and editing. Qualifying scores ILR 4 minimum or equivalent on language/translation tests. Must have lived 3 of the last 5 years in the U.S. (not necessarily consecutive). At least 1 year of experience working with a law enforcement and/or legal department. Must be a U.S. citizen, Naturalized citizen, or Green Card holder with a Social Security Number. Knowledge of both English and foreign language vocabularies used in formal, legal, diplomatic, and casual communication. Knowledge of specialized vocabulary related to the Government’s varied roles and missions, along with research and analytical skills. Fluency in writing in their native language and professional command of the non-native language. Ability to translate accurately without changes, omissions, or additions. Preservation of the tone and register of source language materials. Adherence to relevant code of linguist ethics. Clearance:
