Job Title: Farsi Reviewer/Editor/Certifier, DOJ LSS Location: National Capital Region (NCR) - Washington, DC 20540 US (Primary) Category: Contractors Summary: The Unconventional (TU) is seeking a qualified Reviewer/Editor/Certifier to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) with Translation, Interpretation, Transcription and other Linguistic Support Services (LSS). Activities may include the translation of documents and video/audio media content, as well as ancillary services like court interpretation. Source material will contain legal, business, public administrative, medical, scientific, financial, historical, geographical, and military terminology. The material is legal in nature and may be provided in various formats, including electronic or hard copies of books, reports, manuscripts, legal documents, presentations, and audio/video files. The content may range from complex technical information to informal language. All material will be considered “sensitive,” requiring strict controls and confidentiality measures at all times. Required Qualifications: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the required language along with superior skills in English and editing. Qualifying scores ILR 4 minimum or equivalent on language/translation tests. Must have lived 3 of the last 5 years in the U.S. (does not have to be consecutive). At least 1 year of experience working with a law enforcement and/or legal department. Must be a U.S. citizen; Naturalized citizen; or Green Card holder with a Social Security Number. Knowledge of both English and foreign language vocabularies used in various contexts. Knowledge of specialized vocabulary related to Government’s varied roles and missions. Fluent writing in their native language, with professional command of the non-native language. Ability to translate factually and conceptually accurately without changes, omissions, or additions. Preserve the tone and register of source language materials. Abide by relevant code of linguist ethics. Clearance:
