We are looking for a full-time candidate to join our hybrid Advisory group based in New York. This role sits within our Strategy and Policy team, which provides public and private sector clients with strategic and technical advisory for sustainability, climate, economic development, and urban revitalization initiatives. Projects are anticipated to be a mix of strategic planning and technical analysis, ranging across different scales, from regions and cities to the site level.

This role’s responsibilities include helping to lead complex projects, conducting quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis and modeling, producing data visualization and spatial analysis graphics, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality materials to our clients.

Responsibilities will include:

Lead portions of complex strategic planning projects, including sustainability or climate-related initiatives, economic development, or urban revitalization.

Direct and perform research on topics related to economics, real estate, public policy or similar.

Develop methodologies and conduct technical analysis for cost-benefit assessments, industry studies, market analyses, and economic impact studies.

Synthesize analysis findings to develop project and policy recommendations.

Create presentation decks, memos, reports, graphics, and data visualizations.

Present findings and recommendations to clients and other external stakeholders.

Support the team in the pursuit of business development opportunities – market research, writing, and production of formal proposals.

More about you:

The successful applicant will have a degree in urban planning, urban policy, economics, real estate, sustainability management, or similar. The following experience and skills are expected:

At least 5-8 years of consulting experience in the fields of economics/economic development, sustainability, real estate, infrastructure, and/or public policy.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.

Strong quantitative analysis skills and experience delivering projects which include complex data analysis, financial modeling, and/or economic modeling and forecasting.

Ability to manage projects against tight timelines, manage the contributions of internal and external collaborators, and have a proactive and collaborative style.

Ability to effectively communicate complex economic and planning concepts, in written and oral form, to a diverse range of built environment professionals within municipal governments and private investors, as well as to community groups.

Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience using GIS software to analyze and visualize geospatial data (ArcGIS, QGIS).

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is preferred.

Knowledge of and/or interest in sustainability, climate action, urban planning, economic development, environmental justice, and urban revitalization.

What we offer:

Salary range of $95,000 to $110,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.
