This position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Key Responsibilities
Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questionsReview new file assignments, all documentary evidence and approve initial pleadings, propounds discovery, and develop strategyInvestigate and pursue subrogation litigation, as appropriateConduct settlements/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.)Prepare and conduct court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.)Conduct depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documentsPrepares witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnessesTry and/or arbitrate cases and prepares motions and summary documents in liminieKeep claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, and pre-trial, etc.)Education
4 year Bachelor's Degree (Required)Juris Doctor (Required); Licensed to practice in New York (and in good standing)Experience
2 or more years of experience (Preferred)Supervisory Responsibilities
