Requires one resource to assist with supporting the lifecycle of the desktop computers and peripherals which includes preparing aged equipment for surplus.
• Configure and deploy a mixed variety of desktop computers and peripherals at various office locations• Prepare equipment for surplus: Collect, wipe hard drives using identified tool, organize, document (using an Excel spreadsheet), box, shrink wrap, and move computer equipment and peripherals for surplus or disposal.
SCOPE OF WORKAssist with the unloading, unboxing, configuring, and deploying of new equipment and surplus the end-of-life hardware.
1. Pre-Deployment activities:a. Assist with the unloading and unboxing of new equipmentb. Scan all equipment to update asset management databasesc. Move and scan equipment from inventory locations/storage locationsd. Stage and deliver equipment to set up labe. Unbox new hardware and associated peripheralsf. Install standard image and post image applications following the District proceduresg. Install Software applications unique to each customer (SOP's provided by the District).h. Migrate customer's data files from their old computer to the new computer (data transfer method provided by District)
2. Deployment / installation activities:a. Deliver completed computer system to customer by scheduleb. Scan assets to user and office location (using District provided scanner)c. Setup and verify functionality (i.e. network connections, peripherals)d. Remove old computer equipment and bring it to setup area for proper disposal
3. Troubleshoot all installation problems related to the Windows 11 Operating System, MS Office 365 Suite, MS Outlook / Exchange, Teams, Internet Web browsers, network connectivity (including wireless), Citrix, PC hardware and peripherals.
4. Take all necessary steps available to ensure customer satisfaction.
5. De-Install legacy equipment: After holding period of two weeks, the computer's hard drive will be erased using District data wiping tools. After drive erase is complete the items will be taken to the proper staging area for surplus.
6. Once legacy hardware is brought back to the surplus staging area the following processes are to be followed for surplus:a. Sort all old equipment by type (computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, cables, etc.)b. Separate functioning and broken equipmentc. Prepare a list of all equipment (following identified procedures using Microsoft Excel)d. Box or palletize and shrink wrap equipment and peripherals and move to a central location as determined by the District's Project Manager.7. Assist with the District's annual physical inventory (includes locating and scanning assets)
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS• Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 60 lbs.• Must have a general knowledge of the different types of computer equipment and peripherals (computers, monitors, keyboards, cables, etc.)• Must be able to follow direction, procedures and work as part of a team• Must have experience with Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheet of equipment• Must have a valid driver's license (travel to remote locations may be required)
