Closing Date:11/27/2024 Pottsgrove School District is currently seeking a High School Principal. This position serves as the chief administrator of the high school in developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures that the school program is compatible with the legal, financial and organizational structure of the school system. The principal defines the responsibilities and accountability of staff members and develops plans for interpreting the school program to the community.Effectively communicates and deploys the district vision, mission, student performance targets and strategic goals to students, staff, parents and stakeholders as appropriate.Facilitates the development of the School Improvement Plan to convert the district's mission, vision, student performance targets and strategic goals into plan, do, study act (PDSA) action plan; is accountable for current levels and trends in School Improvement Plan goals and results (improvement in student learning).Is knowledgeable, and directly involved in the design and implementation of curriculum, instruction and assessment practices, and facilitates the Building Administrator expectations for curriculum, instruction and assessment.Creates processes and schedules that facilitate the collaborative (team) design, sharing, evaluation, and archiving of rigorous relevant and engaging instructional lessons that ensure students acquire essential knowledge.Fosters shared beliefs and a sense of community and cooperation among stakeholders; promotes cooperation and cohesion among staff; develops an understanding of purpose and a shared vision of what the school could be like among stakeholders.Supervises all building personnel directly and/or indirectly; fosters legal and ethical behavior from all employees, and evaluates professional and support staff with the established district process.Assesses professional and support staff capability and capacity needs, including skills and competencies and uses that information to develop an effective and efficient learning and development system, and provides staff with materials and professional development opportunities for the successful execution of their jobs.Assume leadership, coordination and direction of special events held to recognize student achievement and other school-sponsored activities, functions and athletic events; ensure that all students have equal access to programs.Ensures efficient budgeting processes and purchasing procedures; monitor requested materials, supplies and equipment; maintain and control the various local funds generated by school activities.Qualifications:
Minimum five (5) years experience in public education.Masters degree required.Proper Pennsylvania administrative certification including
PA Principal's Certification required.Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code) .Must have current Act 34, 151 & 114
