Join us in redefining the boundaries of what's possible.GENERAL FUNCTIONThe Sr. Manufacturing Operations Manager directs the manufacture of prescription eyewear in a high volume, 24 hour production environment. Leads supervisors and production teams to successfully achieve daily performance goals and objectives established by facility leaders. Maintains a safe working environment and promotes a culture of associate engagement that provides opportunities for growth and advancement.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises direct reporting staff according to EssilorLuxottica CharacteristicsFormulates department/lab specific policies and practicesProvides a safe working environment for all associatesResponsible for the achievement of lab/department productivity and quality goalsSets performance objectives using key leading & lagging metricsEstablishes and maintains controlsManages projects as assigned by the DirectorAssigns priorities & manages projects including scope, schedules & deadlinesDelegates projects to appropriate associates & empowers themDetermines staffing requirements and coordinates hiring activitiesRecommends & supports training as appropriate for departmentsCounsels associates to develop skills within their potentialPlans and implement procedures and systems to continuously improve OperationsCoordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiencyDevelops justifications & cost benefits analysesFacilitates the preparation and analysis of reportsOrganizes and manages business meetingsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS10+ years optical/manufacturing experience7+ years supervisory experienceRecord of solid contributions through sound leadership qualities & interpersonal skillsKnowledge of human resource management principles and proceduresGood planning/organizational skills with emphasis on strategic planningExcellent ability to analyze information & recognize early warning signals of problems in technical environment followed by sound problem solving skillsGood judgment and decision making skillsDetail oriented with ability to organize multiple projects/tasks at once with multiple deadlinesKnowledge of basic economic and accounting principles and practicesKnowledge in all phases of lens manufacturing equipmentProficient in relevant software applicationsGood oral and written communication skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in related field (Preferred)7+ years optical/manufacturing experienceOur Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitmentWe are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
