JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalentPossess a valid Michigan Chauffeur's license with B, P, S and air brakes* (pass State Skill test and State written test)Possess clean driving recordPass physical including drug testMeet all State requirements for Bus Driver CertificationCapable of lifting and moving objects in excess of 60 lbs.Ability to work well with children and adultsCalm and patient demeanor*Training available
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Bus drivers shall provide safe and efficient transportation to and from school for students. Bus drivers will also comply with all traffic regulations as outlined by the Michigan Department of Transportation and the State of Michigan.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide backup to Albion routes including driving and ridingProvide backup to Marshall routes, when neededDrive a school bus safely and professionallyComply with all traffic ordinancesMaintain student discipline on busComply with discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct as outlined and approved by district Board of EducationUse established routes and designated bus stopsOperate on approved time schedulePerform all bus housekeeping duties, inside and outsideComplete daily maintenance sheet and files with Director of TransportationReport (in writing) any maintenance defects immediately to Director of Transportation or Bus Garage MechanicDischarge students only at authorized stopsTransport authorized students onlyParticipate in on-site trainingShow proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus
