The IEEE Strategic Research team provides research services to all of IEEE. Typical research projects examine the needs and opinions of specific groups, assess satisfaction levels, investigate new ideas, evaluate outcomes, or measure the effectiveness of products and services.
The intern will assist with various aspects of IEEE Strategic Research while also taking ownership of their own projects.
Responsibilities:
Assist in research projects as needed (including, but not limited to, survey writing, ad hoc data analysis, preparation of reports, and so on)Create data visualizations, possibly through an interactive dashboard like Tableau or an infographic.Research potential knowledge management tools and potentially implementCreate a newsletter of past IEEE projectsQualifications
Skills and other requirements:
Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint)Experience with data analysis/management (SPSS or R)Experience with data visualization is a strong plus (Tableau)Strong interest in social science or market research processMature and professional communication skills, written and oral - Intellectually curious and eager to learnInterest in technologyInterest in non-profitsCollaborative - able to succeed in a team environmentCreative - ability and desire to brainstorm and devise solutions - Self-directed - can deliver results with limited supervisionProven work ethic and positive attitudeFlexible - willing and able to adapt to frequent changeComfortable working remotely
