The Department of Dermatology collaborates to provide the full spectrum of dermatological care to our patients, and a significant focus is to develop the education, knowledge and expertise of all of our providers to provide the highest level of care to our patient population. The Department of Dermatology is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations in an outpatient clinical setting. This role will involve the equivalent of nine-half day clinic sessions per week in our outpatient locations. There is no expectation of night call. Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills are important to this role as much of the time is spent working directly with patients and other medical team members. Essential Functions Perform appropriate history and physical for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients. Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests. Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities. Monitor the effectiveness of interventions. Maintain accurate medical records. Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed. Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans. Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice. Participate in research and development projects. Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students and medical students. Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. Required Trainings/Certifications Active Kentucky APRN license with prescriptive authority. Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority. Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty Active Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Required Experience Three (3) years nursing experience. 1 year work experience as Nurse Practitioner in General Dermatology. Additional Qualifications Considered Additional nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory setting. Additional experience as APN in hospital or ambulatory setting. Flexible schedule to work at various clinical sites based on department need. Physical Requirements/Work Environment Sitting - Often Repetitive hand motion (such as
