School Nurse-Float

North Reading Public Schools is seeking a part-time Float School Nurse to assist Elementary, Middle, and High School Nurses throughout the District starting January 2, 2025. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential. In this role you will support students' health needs, triage situations, and facilitate ongoing wellness programming throughout the District. This position is a 0.5 FTE and approximately 17.5 hours/week. Exact schedule will be coordinated with the Director of Student Services and the Lead Nurse.Essential DutiesProvide direct nursing services to students and staff as needed across the District in grades PreK-12Provide building based nursing coverage for district nurses as neededAssist building based staff with the completion of mandated and recommended health screeningsConsult and collaborate with the district staff and the Nurse Leader on matters pertaining to student health and well-being as appropriateConsult and collaborate with district nurses on matters related to policy development as appropriateProvide professional development to staff on issues related to health and wellness as appropriateAttend 504/IEP team meetings as appropriateComplete data entry associated with student office visits as neededAttend and participate in nursing department meetingsAssume other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Building Principal and/or Director of Student ServicesRequirementsRN licenseMassachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) license in Professional Support Personnel: School Nurse (All Levels)At least three (3) years of relevant experience preferredMaster's degree preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFluency in basic computer skills; i.e., Gmail, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.Citizenship, residency or work visa requiredAdditional benefits for this work are outlined in the current North Reading Education Association contract.The North Reading Public Schools (NRPS) provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where students develop both their social-emotional and academic skills and abilities through an exploration of a wide range of content areas, the arts, athletics, and extra-curricular opportunities.
