**Job Title:** Registered Nurse

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) and Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years experience required
**License:** Must have an active DC license prior to the start date
**Certifications:** Required: BLS; Preferred: ACLS, PCCN, BSN
**Must-Have:** Proficiency with Cerner, experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown units, ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and skill in starting IVs
**Job Description:**- Provide nursing care in a short-term acute care teaching hospital environment.- Care for patients in the Transplant Intermediate Care unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.- Perform special procedures such as paracentesis, central line placements, and lumbar punctures.- Manage weekend shifts, working 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule, with shifts on either Saturday or Sunday.- Float between units of equivalent or lower acuity as required.- Complete orientation including a 4-hour class, 8-hour modules, and a 12-hour clinical shift.- Willingness to work with and manage care for patients with COVID-19.- Adherence to hospital requirements, including a mandatory flu vaccine.- No prior employment at this facility within the last year for traveler nurses returning.- Complete pre-start modules and potentially during orientation, with an average of 12 hours on modules.
All travelers must be willing to accept assignments that include COVID-19 patients, and flu vaccination is required with no exemptions.
