Position Summary Details

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Collaborate with engineering teams and other stakeholders to refine priorities and determine functional and non-functional requirements of cloud architectureEvaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for scale and business objectivesAssist in developing high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibilitySuccessfully document and communicate all concepts and guidelines to engineering teams and stakeholdersProvide oversight, guidance, and coaching to engineers and peersOffer strategic guidance on application solutions, architectures, and support processesEnsure high technology standards and best practices are in place and followedBalance speed with qualityExecute on continuous improvement of the existing applications and architectureMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Bachelor's degree preferred; and 2-5 years of related professional experienceProfessional experience with AWS showing familiarity with the major AWS service offeringsExperience in building secure cloud architectures using AWS engineering best practicesDemonstrated grasp of automation for across many systems including infrastructure, builds, configuration, testing, deploymentAbility to master a wide variety of toolsets (e.g. Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, Git, TeamCity)Understanding of clustering and containerization technologiesComfortable with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g. Python, Powershell)Have a functional understanding of configuration management tools (e.g. Chef, Ansible, Salt)Functional understanding of High-Level Architecture with the ability to design for HA/DRAbility to work in an Agile / Scrum environmentDeep operational knowledge in both Windows and Linux environmentExperience with working big data, data warehousing, data lake would be a plusHighly self-motivated and directedExcellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skillsExcellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsStrong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skillsStrong customer service orientationSupervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have any direct reports and is a single contributor role.

Working Environment and Travel Requirements

Work is typically in a normal office administrative environment involving minimal exposure to physical risks.Position requires little to moderate physical activity. Mostly sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. No significant stooping is usually required.
