We are seeking a creative, strategic, and self-directed Principal Program Manager to help define, create, and launch a framework for large events and activities to enhance and extend our flagship annual design conference, Conflux, and drive a rhythm of activity throughout the year. Your passion for design and ability to craft memorable moments will connect, inspire, and empower our creative community around the globe. You will work across Amazon and the industry to identify inspirational speakers, develop educational workshops and curate engaging events to foster a healthy design community. This role will be based in Seattle, WA. Relocation to Seattle is offered within the US.
Key job responsibilities
Drive vision, roadmap and delivery of creative events: internal conferences, summits, speaker events, workshops, and programs
Oversee the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of creative events – summits, speaker events, workshops, and programs
Manage logistics, scheduling, vendor relationships, and seamless delivery
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify team needs, interests, and opportunities, developing programs that support skill development, creativity, and innovation
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support event execution
Manage event budgets and ensure all programs are cost-effective while maintaining a high standard of execution.
Own sourcing and negotiations with vendors.
Define, collect, and report on key program metrics to measure success and guide year over year improvements
Develop communication strategies to promote events
Stay current with industry trends in creative programming, events, and learning experiences. Incorporate new ideas and approaches into the planning and execution of internal events.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
8+ years of program or project management experience
8+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
