Job Description
ESG Engineering, an Inframark Company, is looking for a motivated GIS/GPS Technician to join our team. As a GIS/GPS Technician, you will play a vital role in our engineering projects by using survey-grade GPS technology to accurately locate above-ground assets, such as water, sewer, and stormwater systems. Schedule and Work Location
This position works 4 10-hour days and requires overnight travel during the week to project sites in Georgia and South Carolina. Some projects may extend to other areas.
Job Responsibilities
Use survey-grade GPS equipment to accurately locate and map above-ground assets, such as water, sewer, and stormwater systems.
Conduct field surveys and collect data to support engineering projects
Work closely with project teams to determine project requirements and objectives
Effectively communicate project progress and findings to team members and other individuals involved.
Perform quality assurance checks on collected data to ensure accuracy and completeness
Strictly implement to established safety protocols and guidelines during fieldwork
Assist in the analysis and interpretation of GIS data to support engineering decision-making processes
Maintain and update GIS databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility
Job Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with ArcGIS software (preferred)
Proficiency in operating survey-grade GPS equipment
Strong understanding of GIS principles and data management
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
