The Human Resources Generalist originates and supports HR practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes innovation, safety, collaboration, teamwork and accelerated performance and the recruitment and ongoing development of a talented employee base. The Human Resources Generalist coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff; reports to the Director of Human Resources and advises company managers about Human Resource matters.
They are looking for a permanent full-time Human Resources Generalist at their Oberon manufacturing facility in N. Dartmouth, MA. This in-person role is Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30 pm.
ResponsibilitiesOversee employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, promotions, transfers, training and safetyExecution of transactional operational HR processes (e.g. coordinate and conduct new hire orientations, terminations and exit interviews, leave administration and return to work), HRIS updatesSupport in reviewing, interpreting, administering and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and company policies and proceduresAdministers various Human Resources policies and programs and assists in the development and implementation of policies and programs to achieve company strategic objectives across the Eastern locationsProvide guidance, direction, coaching and advice to employees and management on matters related to all areas of Human Resources, including the interpretation of company policies and procedures, recruitment and selection, performance management, terminations, training and development, leave administration, talent and performance management, people management issues, and such communications;Assist managers in addressing conflict resolution issues;Ensure fair and consistent administration of Company policies, procedures, and employee handbooks;Assist the Director of Human Resources in the delivery and deployment of HR programs, processes and projects including Annual Performance Management, Compensation, Culture program, Training and Development, etc.;Manages recruiting assignments and partners with managers to find the best talent (developing the job posting, advertising the role, using all means to find great talent, review resumes, interview, tests) and then create and offer position to the successful candidate and handle all communication and coordination related to the recruitment assignment;Assist with the performance management and annual compensation process;Assist with maintaining US handbook policy and update with Federal or State policy changes and devise plan for training and communication with Director of HR support;Resolves employee relations issues to include conflict resolution, harassment investigations, employee disputes, performance issues and general questionsCompany-wide committee facilitation (charity, social events, recognition programs, service awards);Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper formApproximately 20%+ travel to various locations in the US and Canada to support HR projects and assignments
Education and Competencies:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Associates Degree or equivalent Human Resources experience;Minimum 3-5 years of HR generalist experience;HR Certification preferred (e.g. PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)Strong knowledge of US State and Federal laws and knowledge of Canadian provincial laws an assetExperience with supporting safety policies and driving a culture of safety;Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with customers to address issues in all functional HR areas;Strong problem-solving skills and ability to maintain calm in a fast-paced environment;Strong administration, organizational, planning and time management skills;The upmost standards of professionalism, ethics and objectivity while being approachable and customer service oriented;The utmost of integrity, adherence to policies, rules and governance;Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with others in a diverse environment;Strong knowledge of PC based applications (i.e. MS Office Suite);Must possess excellent analytical skills, with a high attention to detail;Ability to learn new concepts quickly and share this knowledge with others;Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills;Must be fluent in English, spoken and written;Exceptional leadership skills;Ability to work with any team member, demonstrated collaboration in the spirit of “Finding A Better Way” and supporting the overall team;Passion and desire to learn and grow;Ability to work independently and in a team environment;Self-motivated, positive attitude and detail-oriented;Flexible attitude, creative and sincere and caring personality;A solid work ethic with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
