It starts with our people, which is why we need a strategic Senior Communications Manager who can join a growing marcomms function, tasked with setting ourselves apart from competitors in the fast-moving legal industry.
Leveraging brand strategy, standard-setting creativity, original qualitative and quantitative market insights, you will seek to protect, grow and enhance our external profile and that of our key people through the design and delivery of innovative, timely and commercial communications.
You’ll be responsible for the following:
Work with the Associate Director of Communications and members of the global Marketing & Communications team to design and deliver PR strategies to support and elevate the firm’s profile through various channels, including media coverage, thought leadership initiatives, social media and other firm communications vehicles
Develop strong working relationships with partners and other key stakeholders within the firm to advance PR and communications plans which support the success of the firm’s global strategy and business development efforts
Collaborate with Marketing & Business Development teams to develop integrated communications plans to build profile externally and promote thought leadership initiatives
Advise and prepare partners and other key stakeholders for media interviews, including the development of key messages, talking points and other advance materials
Develop communications materials which ensure effective communications of complex announcements, including lateral hires, deal announcements, litigation victories and other firm news items
Lead on media relations in the US, serving as spokesperson for firm and managing day-to-day media inquiries
Manage PR agency resources in the US, aligning work with the firm’s global strategy
Support regional stakeholders to answer critical questions from their local media and external organizations
Supervise and provide guidance to members of the Communications team in the US.
Skills and experience
7+ years of experience in PR, communications, or marketing with an emphasis on legal, professional services or adjacent industry
Demonstrated track record of working with key internal stakeholders across different practices and offices to develop and implement public relations plans and initiatives
Extensive experience in engaging and building relationships with media, both proactively and reactively, including issues and crisis management
Significant media relations experience working with media, and relevant PR agencies, in multiple jurisdictions
Excellent writing skills: Ability to write content for a range of audiences both inside and outside the firm
Experience leading teams and supervising team members
Ability to exercise sound judgement and demonstrate initiative to accomplish assigned tasks
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to handle multiple projects on a regular basis and meet deadlines under pressure

Education/Experience/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism or Communications plus five years of experience in one of more of these areas
