Job Description

Stamford Health is looking for a Fulltime Team Lead, Network Services.

Must live in the Tri-state area CT, NY, or NJ.

Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure Services, the Team Lead is the lead engineer and architect for the Stamford Hospital voice & network infrastructure environment. This includes the planning, design, implementation, and support of all network services and technologies, which include of the organization's network technologies; routing and switching equipment, Internet services, remote access services; and perimeter network security services.

This Team Lead is responsible for executing projects and efforts pertinent to achieving Stamford Health's goals and objectives. The Team Lead recommends and implements new technologies and processes to improve workflow and processes, while reducing downtime and costs. The Team Lead works with the Manager of Infrastructure Services to develop and execute team strategy, assess and report on project workloads and tasks, recognize and act upon opportunities for preventive and proactive maintenance, and report infrastructure growth and requirements changes.

Responsibilities

Provide technology and process component thought leadership to the Network services environment in the selection and design of new technologies or performing upgrades to existing.

Acts as a business liaison within the health system to ensure that issues are uncovered and recognized before they become critical problems.

The Team Lead understands core system processes, workflows, and interdependencies across the enterprise. Team Lead must demonstrate the ability to provide strategic vision into the healthcare industry. Research means of maintaining system capacity and performance while reducing cost.

Provides recommendations to the Infrastructure Services Manager on standards, procedures, and processes for the systems engineering group. Identifies risks in the systems environment, documents gaps in best practices and implements technical or process improvements to mitigate risk. Plans the support of new technologies, systems performance and reliability.

Supervises the work efforts of the Network engineers to support implementation and operational tasks associated with the Network environment. This includes proactive maintenance and capacity engineering, administration and troubleshooting, support and triage, compatibility testing, and administration.

Manages multiple projects, utilizing the IS department's standard project management methodologies and ensuring project timelines are met. Works with team members on creating charters, scopes and project plans as required by the SHS project methodology.

In collaboration with the Manager of Infrastructure Services, identifies skill set requirements, training and advancement opportunities for the engineer team members, provides feedback for annual reviews and professional development plans for the engineer team members.

Provides input to the Manager surrounding strategy, design, implementation, maintenance, budget, and staffing for daily activities and projects. Responsible for overseeing the quality of work and productivity of projects and maintenance tasks for the team.

Active participant of Information Service's PMO responsible for ensuring each project is managed following the standard IS methodologies. Ensures that projects are adequately scoped with relation to Back Office tasks and responsibilities. Work to assign appropriate resources to projects and tasks as needed.

Initiates root cause analysis of reported issues. The Team Lead should oversee the implementation of resolutions surrounding the root cause analysis.

Develops and mentors staff through coaching, open communication, mentoring, training and development opportunities; maintains employee morale and motivation; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace. Directly supervises multiple team members. Contributes to the mid-year and year-end performance appraisal process for team staff.

Architects, administers and maintains the datacenter infrastructure. This includes an understanding of the design, implementation, and management of data storage, storage area network, Cisco UCS infrastructure, and VMware VSphere environments. Defining the integration of the datacenters within our back-up and restoration strategy, as well as defining the integration of this infrastructure within our disaster recovery strategy.

Responsible for the development of standard hardware configuration and specification for server technologies and for applying these standards throughout the enterprise.

Ensures a stable and highly available enterprise-computing environment, including effective customer communications, problem solving, root cause analysis, and remediation. Responsible for enforcing enterprise standards and reference architecture. Responsible for exceeding system and applications SLA's and reducing major system issues.

Develops key reference architecture & solutions. Develops and executes a hardware refresh strategy. Ensures rationalization through ongoing capacity management and planning. Develops supporting product roadmaps and executes upgrade strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or at least 12 years of experience in Network Design, operations, and implementation.Minimum 7 years of experience working in a high-availability environment.Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in a senior technologist roleCCDP or CCNP and multiple CCIE certifications are highly desiredExpert knowledge and experience of Core Routing and Switching design, configuration and troubleshooting and use of Cisco Best Practices.Expert knowledge and experience of Network Security, including design, configuration and tuning of Cisco Security appliances.Expert knowledge of enterprise Cisco Call Manager (CCM), Unity Connection, SIP protocol and trunking.Expert knowledge in wireless systems for managed Wireless Access Point deployment.Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.Strong, demonstrable experience implementing and supporting HIS within a hospital / health system is preferredStrong project management skills/experience is requiredAbility to handle multiple projects independently and carry them to conclusion.Ability to lead a team as necessary, and mentor others.Ability to interface with multiple groups, departments and vendors.Demonstrate strong project management skills.Strong organizational skills required.
