Position Summary:Full-time employment position with trading company in Stamford, CT. Seeking a self-motivated and seasoned Systems Support Engineer prepared to add value to our IT Infrastructure department.In this position, you will be part of an international technical team that is responsible for managing and providing 24x7 day to day support for on-premise and public cloud IaaS and PaaS platforms. This includes support of the physical data center as well as remote locations, including all of the server and network hardware and software, not excluding desktop support. This role will require the candidate to be proficient with MS Azure and Amazon AWS as we continue to transfer our on-premise services to the cloud.Responsibilities:• Identify and resolve issues in a quality and expeditious manner• Communicate and be able to explain all aspects of work completed• Understand and convey Best-Practice procedures in the ever-changing threat landscape• Understand various Cloud Architecture vendor interoperability and methods of defense.• Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.• Troubleshoot and demonstrate professionalism at all times• Ability to contact vendors for all degrees of project management• Lead and/or participate on corporate level IT projects• Manage external resources, suppliers, and contracts• Collaborate in the global IT infrastructure team (at an international level)• Support and improve system environment and services• Maintain and monitor IT infrastructure across multiple sites• Document operational and support procedures• Participate and coordinate IT Infrastructure incident and problem management (ticketing system)• Attend and heavily participate in all IT related meetings or brainstorming sessions, as invited• Self-starter, self-learner, and self-motivated• Being able to work on several activities/projects seamlessly• Take direction and delegation without contentionKnowledge and experience in the following is required:• 7-10 years' experience as a system support engineer• 3 years minimum experience providing purely level 1 help desk support• Office 365 support and architecture knowledge in a hybrid environment.• AWS Platform knowledge with a focus on storage and computing.• Excellent communicating skills with experience working with various types of management• Proficient in MS Windows 10, Mac OSX, MS Office• MS Windows Server (Administration, Clustering, IIS, DHCP, DNS/WINS, DFS, Group Policy, etc.)• Active Directory (manipulation including, but not limited to, user creation, password/group/OU maintenance and other various day to day activities.)• Basic functional knowledge of MS Powershell, especially when used with AD and MS Exchange• Functional engineering knowledge of Cisco equipment - (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.)• Functional engineering knowledge of Citrix on-premise and cloud offerings• Functional understanding of Wireless technologies• Functional understanding of routing and VPN technologies• Ability to administer mobile client configuration and access rights specifically if done by MDM• Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure experience• Data Storage (EMC) management experience• Ability to work rotating shifts beginning at 7AM or 9AM• 24x7 rotational on-call technical support experience• Able to lift 35 lb.Knowledge and experience in the following is a plus:• Administration of Cisco Meraki Cloud technology• Command line tools and utilities (Powershell, Python, SysInternals, nMap, etc.)• Support and maintenance of Rubrik backup and recovery• Knowledge of java-based trading system software - (JTrader, Barx, M-Trade Pro, etc.)• Data Feed software - (Reuters, Bloomberg, CQG, Future Source, Fast Markets, etc.)Familiarity with the following concepts, procedures and/or software:• Change management procedures• Purchase order creation• Poly Video Conferencing• MS SQL Server backups and queries
