OVERVIEW:
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (MaineIT) Network Services Office provides information technology support to over 22,000 employees. MaineIT oversees large scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies.

This position works from the office in Augusta, ME
What will you do?
This position requires technical interaction with routers, switches, load balancers, UPS, VOIP systems and other networked devices.
Install, configure, and maintain WLAN, WAN, MAN and LAN hardwareDaily use of Cisco DNA center, Identity Service Engine, Radware & F5 load balancersNetwork diagnostics using wire captures, Cisco Stealthwatch, Solarwinds Network Management toolsDiagnose complex network issues across Layers 1,2 &3 while working the OSI model. Provide complex network reports to management (i.e. incident management).Develop, maintain, and document configuration standards, network devices, cabling standards and software upgrades on network equipment or tools.Analyze network traffic to identify potential bottlenecks, existing performance degradation, and end of life network hardware and software. Present findings to management and team and provide recommendation for moving forwardWhat's in it for you?
Oversees and coordinates maintenance and updating of major operating and networking systemsEnsures adequate interface of operational functions and applications systems and problem solves to identify and correct software - network issues.Evaluates suitability and impact of software and hardware components on computer systems to advise on network services management.Works with other IT professionals to provide technical expertise to accomplish goals.Manages and optimizes performance of network services and networking systems, and conducts capacity planning efforts to maximize availability of system resourcesREQUIREMENTS - MUST DELIVER ON
Knowledge: Technical interaction with routers, switches, load balancers, UPS, VOIP systems and other networked devices.Abilities: Establish protocols such as SSH/Telnet, SNMP, TCP/IP, and OSPF are utilized on a daily basis, and adhere to standards.Experience: Must be experienced in Cisco's Identity Service Engine, Cisco Network Management Software (Prime/DNAC), Cisco Wireless integration as well as VOIP transport across an enterprise network architecture.Effective interpersonal communication with internal and external customers often to explain complex technical problems and solutions in terms that are easy-to-understand for management and end-users. Knowledge of state government or enterprise IT networking area a plus.Ability to work effectively as a member of an IT team.Ability to work in, manage, operateand interpret output of Cisco ISE, Cisco Stealthwatch, Cisco DNA center and associated tools .MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 6 years of a combination of related post-secondary education, technical certifications, or technology related work experience. Related training, internship experience etc. may be credited as related experience on a month-per-month basis.This position requires the candidate to be able to conduct field work; requiring a valid driver's license, the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs and the ability to climb ladders.
Preference for candidates with an active CCNA/CCNP or equivalent experience managing Cisco ISRs, Cisco Catalysis switching, Cisco ISE, Cisco Stealthwatch, Cisco DNA center and associated tools.
The selected candidate will be required to pass the required background checks (fingerprinting may be required) as a condition of employment.
